  • 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, minced onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  2. Shape into oval patties about 1 inch thick.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; sear patties for 3-4 minutes per side until browned.
  4. Remove patties; sauté sliced onions in the same skillet until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  5. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce; scrape up browned bits from the pan.
  6. Mix cornstarch with water; stir into gravy until thickened (1-2 minutes).
  7. Return patties to the skillet; simmer in gravy for an additional 5 minutes.
