  • 2 tbsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 cup beef broth or red wine (for basting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Rub the prime rib roast with kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and olive oil.
  3. Sprinkle chopped rosemary evenly over the seasoned roast.
  4. Place the roast bone-side down in a roasting pan and roast at 450°F for about 20 minutes.
  5. Lower the oven temperature to 325°F (165°C) and baste with beef broth or red wine every 30 minutes until it reaches an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.
  6. Let the roast rest covered loosely with foil for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
