  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tablespoons homemade)
  • 1 can (15 oz) refried beans
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup salsa (mild or spicy)
  • 2 cups crushed tortilla chips
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Stir in taco seasoning and refried beans until combined.
  3. Layer half of the beef mixture in the prepared baking dish, followed by half of the cheddar cheese and crushed tortilla chips. Repeat layers with remaining beef mixture and cheese.
  4. Pour salsa over the top layer and bake for about 30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving hot with sour cream on top.
