Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 medium sweet onion, chopped
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika (smoked optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sear each side until golden brown, about 5 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté chopped onions and minced garlic until translucent (about 3 minutes).
  3. Sprinkle flour over the onion mixture, stirring continuously for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in chicken broth until smooth.
  4. Add softened cream cheese and paprika, stirring to create a creamy sauce.
  5. Return seared chicken to the skillet, ensuring it's well-coated with sauce. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook gently for about 20 minutes until fully cooked.
  6. Taste and adjust seasonings as desired before serving.
