  • 2 cups tart apples (such as Granny Smith), peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup pre-made pie crust
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg + 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, toss sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice until well-coated.
  3. Roll out the pie crust on a floured surface and cut out circles using a round cutter.
  4. Spoon about a tablespoon of the apple mixture onto one half of each circle. Fold over and seal edges with fingers or a fork.
  5. Brush tops with egg wash for a golden finish.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
