  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk or cream

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Shape the mixture into patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and whisk in flour until golden brown. Gradually add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
  4. Stir in soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce; let simmer until thickened.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet, spoon gravy over them, and simmer for an additional five minutes.
