Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm milk, granulated sugar, and yeast in a bowl; let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add melted butter and the yeast mixture; knead until smooth (approximately 8–10 minutes).
  3. Roll out dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over it, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly.
  4. Roll the dough tightly from one edge to form a log and slice into even pieces.
  5. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover with a towel, and let rise for 30–45 minutes until doubled.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. While baking, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth for frosting.
