  2. Heat the milk: Pour whole milk into a large pot and heat over medium until it reaches 190°F (88°C), stirring occasionally to prevent scorching.
  3. Add vinegar and culture: Remove from heat; stir in white vinegar and cheese culture. Let sit for 10 minutes until curds form.
  4. Separate curds from whey: Use a slotted spoon to scoop curds into a colander lined with cheesecloth. Drain for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Rinse and salt curds: Rinse the warm curds under cold water, then sprinkle salt evenly while mixing. Optional: drizzle with melted butter before serving.
