  • 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 28 oz canned San Marzano tomatoes
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, herbs, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the meatballs for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown on all sides. Remove from skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté onions and garlic until translucent. Add canned tomatoes and crush slightly; return the meatballs and simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed before serving over pasta or crusty bread.
